Carl Zovko, PT, DPT, Director of Rehabilitation
Carl earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Carl loves outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, especially the shoulder, elbow and knee. His philosophy is manual and exercise based. Carl believes in living an active lifestyle; whether he’s losing to Anthony at racquetball or hiking with his wife around Charlottesville, he’s working to keep his body healthy. czovko@advancedcpt.com
Kohl Kershisnik, PT, MPT
Kohl attended the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana where he received his BS in Kinesiology. From there he went to graduate school at the University of Wisconsin at Madison where he earned his masters in Physical Therapy. After graduation, he worked in a private outpatient clinic in Hilton Head, SC for 8 years where he worked closely with an orthopedic surgeon who did surgery on every joint of the extremities. While on Hilton Head Island, he worked with avid golfers from recreational to the amateur tryout, make the “Tour” or play at the collegiate level. Kohl’s passion is to see the patient go from not being able to function to being able to return to whatever they are passionate doing. Karen Kupelian, PT, DPT
After graduating from James Madison University with a BS in Exercise Science and a Minor in Nutrition, Karen earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. Karen specializes in feet and ankles, thoracic spine and pelvic disorders. She strives to be both personable and professional as she teaches her patients to regain function and prevent further injury. Special PT experiences include internships at a well known clinic in La Jolla, CA and with a clinic treating players from the Washington Redskins in Reston, VA. Kristin McKillip, PTA
Kristin graduated from Tidewater Community College with an A.S.S. in Physical Therapist Assistant. For her undergraduate degree Kristin attended Virginia Tech where she earned her BS in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise Science. It was at Tech that she played on the volleyball team and also met her husband, Ryan. Before working at Advanced Kristin worked for two years in Newport News at Mary Immaculate Hospital in outpatient rehabilitation with a concentration in neurological disorders. Here at Advanced, she is building an interest in spine and pelvic disorders. Kristin is here because she loves helping to improve patients’ quality of life and to help them return to their everyday activities as soon as possible. Kristin and her husband, Ryan, are happy to be in Charlottesville and are moving into a new era of life together as they are expecting their first child. kmckillip@advancedcpt.com
